remarks from the road 5

Hey everyone!

The road trip has now concluded with happy results!

Esteemed subscriber and now former-cross country driver Noah Curran and I officially have reached Seattle. And just as I come, I depart to return home to NYC!

We learned quickly on the way from Spokane to Seattle that a great portion of the state seems to sit on a plateau, but as we descended we were greeted with the beautiful site of the Northern Cascades.

Seattle has to be one of the most beautiful cities in America. I love the gloomy clouds just hovering over the coniferous trees, and how they all stand tall before the sound and Elliot Bay. Should I move here? Probably not at this moment, but maybe something to consider in a few years.

I spent the little time we had here showing Noah and esteemed subscriber Madeline Small around Capitol Hill in Seattle, one of my favorite parts of the city! Specifically the birria quesatacos from Carmelo’s, and one of my favorite coffee shops Analog Coffee (multi roaster, I think)! And of course, both introduced to me by esteemed subscriber Alisa Reynya.

But anyway, the end is near. I shall return to the east coast tonight! I will finally sleep in the same place for more than one night in a row. I’m not sure I’m even gonna leave my apartment this week. One of the funny things this trip has left with me though is how I now have a desire to watch anime again.

This was inspired by Noah putting on SPY X FAMILY on the TV every night and us slowly working through the entire second season. I had forgotten how much I loved anime. For some reason, I had lost this little corner of my life over the years. What happened? What changed? It's time to return to watching anime.

But it also inspired me to get outside more. Visiting four national parks/monuments got me excited about the outdoors once again. I guess in NYC it's truly hard to get outside, but I am more determined than ever to get out there and just go on a hike. Mt Beacon, here I come!

anime time with Noah!!!!
