Hi everyone! Sorry, I've been a bit busy in life (I just moved!), so all I have to share with you all this week is a fun little adventure with the boys.

It's a semi-warm night. The lights of midtown are flashing. Esteemed subscriber Caleb Balisacan is in town and we're joined by esteemed subscriber Akshay Pawar. After reuniting and hanging for a bit. We're gonna have fun. We're gonna go get cake and talk about our feelings.

Esteemed subscribers Akshay Pawar and Caleb Balisican admiring the slices

We almost walked into Junior's Restaurant which is right next to the bakery, and upon entering one is greeted with some of the most insane "cheesecakes" they have ever seen.

Like, this one is almost more strawberry jelly than cheesecake. The red velvet one is literally substituting the cream cheese or whatever portion with cheesecake (no complaints, it's just a sight to see).

assembling the slices!

We each bought a slice of original, strawberry and red velvet and divvied it amongst ourselves. And Caleb's rankings are:

  1. Red Velvet
  2. Original: "A close second"
  3. Strawberry: "What was that. A distant third."

And if you're wondering why Caleb, a fruit and God-loving man, ranked strawberry third, take a look at this jelly.

what the hell is that

The original was clearly frozen but by the next evening it had thawed out in my refrigerator. My initial impressions of the pre-thaw cheesecake were mainly that it was so frozen there was no indication that there was any cream in there.

Thankfully, the thaw revealed a wonderfully creamy cheesecake that I promptly wolfed down before drinking my soup. All's well that ends well.
