It is strange, living in a neighborhood.

Technically I've always lived in a neighborhood. Back home in California, when I was at Purdue, and when I lived in Manhattan for a bit. But strangely enough, this is the first time I've felt like I lived somewhere that has struck a balance between somewhere where people live, and somewhere where people work.

Generally? I think I really like Queens. I've been describing it to friends as the difference between Gossip Girl or Devil Wears Prada and Spiderman from Queens. I'm not living next to corporate offices or next to a tunnel (though I can hear the subway lol). Maybe this is what living in SF is like? But less trains.

New York in the spring is a blessing (except for this past Sunday, which was still fairly nice). It reminds of the other time I lived in a place with seasons, where after months of gloom and rain and snow and the occasional tornado warning the sun finally would come out, bringing with it all the green that you had somehow missed growing sneakily in the background.

Anyway here are some nice pictures of some walks I've taken around my new neighborhood!

fb marketplace find of the week

Whenever I see pictures like this, I always wonder what the story behind it is. So why does this person have the letters of a Taco Bell sign??? How did they come into these? I feel like it should be worth more than $100??

ALSO WHAT IS THAT.

animal of the week

Esteemed subscriber Emi Chan with a cute cat that kind of looks like a more soulful Simba. Who, obviously, is full of soul.

A beloved friend’s cat, Mr.Noodles. Often ridiculed for having a head too small for his body.
