Hi everyone! Sorry for the Tuesday newsletter — life has been busy. Whether it's work (being tugged around) or life (running around), I feel like I always gotta stay busy. September is here. Less than a month of summer left.

I haven't thought too much about the winter beyond the trips that I've booked. I've been spending too much time enjoying the sun as I bike around New York (and beyond), grilling, and just going for walks. It's also been busy work-wise. My team's been gearing up to finally release the project we've been working on for about a year. And somehow this is the part that always takes the longest.

But in the midst of this swirl of frolic and despair I went with some esteemed subscribers to go see a WNBA game! This is my third time going to watch the NY Liberty this year and man is it always a fun time. The atmosphere never disappoints (seems like it's always sold out) thanks to the very charismatic Ellie the Elephant. And of course, the play on the field.

Despite winning the WNBA Championship in 2024 the Liberty parted ways with coach Sandy Bronello — the coach that lead them to the cup. Her replacement, sadly, has not exactly been able to fill her shoes. And despite minimal roster turnover and no turnover in the core roster, the Liberty find themselves sixth in the league right now going into the playoffs.

But the games I've been to this year have been good: the Dallas Wings was a fun game, the Seattle Storm basically stood no chance, and when my home team the Golden State Valkyries came to town the Liberty stood no chance. I've started to learn the drama, the personal rivalries and the the surprising amount of players that are in relationships ... but on OPPOSING TEAMS!!! For example Valkyries player Gabby Williams is the longtime partner of NY Liberty player Marine Johannes and they MET while being teammates on the French national team. So wild!

Anyway I am now following the WNBA this year after the Golden Years Warriors have failed yet another off season to do anything to help Stephen Curry. Their pitch to land LeBron was admirable, but as we all know it did not really land anywhere. So ... bummer.

Wildlife extraordinaire and esteemed subscriber Emi Chan returns with her leopard gecko! Apparently these little guys live in the desert (makes sense given their skin pattern) and can be found in India, Afghanistan and Pakistan!

This is Genghis Khan, my leopard gecko :) he is very cute but also very stupid
