- Huge huge HUGE semiconductor investment, and one of the big Ws of the CHIPS Act. Bringing semiconductor R+D/manufacturing to America will be big for supply chain and create a lot of opportunities for Purdue students as well.
- SK Hynix isn't just a South Korean company. It's one of the leading companies in the world providing memory and the specific type of memory the facility is creating (HBM, aka high bandwidth memory) is the wheelbarrow in this gold rush. If high-powered GPUs are the pickaxes in this gold rush, the HMB is the handle. Or at least, one of the highly specialized parts of the pickaxe that are required for higher performance.
- I'd talk more about the CHIPs Act but it's probably a story for another time. The race to have fab capability on US soil is heating up but at the relative speed of boiling a large pot of cold water with a small flame. It's exciting, but there's a long road ahead for many reasons.

animal of the week
For some reason, naming a cat chicken seems weird to me, but fits an orange cat. Similar to how orange cats are just the way they are, chickens are as kooky as them. Still ... chicken??? Orange ... chicken. Panda Express????
