notes on poutine #1

hello. this is your favorite orange cat owner reporting in from Canada.

Calgary thus far has been an eery version of the Midwest. BUT that being said I have not entered the actual city of Calgary — only the outskirts. But it does show that suburban hell exists everywhere.

But yeah everything honestly feels so American that I don’t feel out of place or anything. Nothing much to report! Except my first time trying poutine.

So against the better advice of my friend and esteemed subscriber Vic Dong I decided to order poutine at McDonald’s. I’m gonna say it. I don’t think this is representative of all poutine. But I’m gonna rate it a 2/5.

It’s soggy. The gravy is thin. There’s not much of a taste and it really wasn’t melding for me. McDonalds Poutine? 2/5. But I shall be trying poutine from other places so stay tuned.
