I don't have much to write about since I've been on the road but you can read about my vacation at the links below! Honestly there were only supposed to be four but after my major travel day ... had to do another one.

Don't worry guys — I have some more food and coffee-themed blog posts coming up!

While I'm here let me talk about the movies I watched on the plane:

  • The Wild Robot: 4.5/5, beautiful movie! It was aptly paced.
  • Shrek: 8/5
  • Didi: 4/5, lots of it felt somewhat relatable, and I really liked how his relationships with his family developed.
  • Yoko: 3.5/5, was a good movie about roadtripping and grief
  • Alien: Romulus: 3.5/5

Ok another list, this time of things I learned on this trip:

  • Just bring a sling bag. Don't bring the full backpack. You don't need all that stuff.
  • American Italian food is so overpriced. I'm never stepping foot in Olive Garden.
  • I was wrong about Milan. Turns out when it's not super rainy and stuff, it's super nice!

~12 pounds of frozen chicken breast

On the road this week! The chicken breast adventure starts anew.

museum of the week

As I step between the light-dappled columns of Milan's Duomo, I gain a sense of awe and respect of not only the beautiful designs — but also the precise attention and care that it's been afforded since its inception.

And that would be thanks to the Veneranda Fabbrica del Duomo di Milano! Established by the governor of Milan a year after the church's groundbreaking (1387), they've been caring for and guiding its construction apparently independent of the Catholic Church!

They keep meticulous records of everything — all carvings have copies, as well as small mockups. And they have so many of these copies and mockups that they've created an entire museum for it!

It's filled with great descriptions of the significances and where each shown piece would go. But honestly the centerpiece of the museum was the amazing scale model of the Duomo.

If you go to the Duomo, be sure to check out the museum!
